WOLF, the word conjures a multitude of images and feelings in the mind: dark forests, towering mountains, moving shadows, a full moon, and a sense of unease. A howl in the night, and everyone looks at each other with hesitation. How close is it?

How many lives have humans and wolves walked the same path? How deeply are we intertwined with one another? Are we etched into the soul of the wolf as they are into ours?

Some Native American tribes believe they are descendants of wolves. I love that idea. I don’t claim to understand it; I just love it—the mystique surrounding the wolf. Its magic is intoxicating.

This is the feeling we’ve tried to instill with WOLF Cologne. It’s part of the reason it took so long to put together. Not only is the scent composition complex, but the pheromone formula is intricate, featuring over 8 human pheromones or pheromone-like substances. Plus, I mean, what does a wolf smell like? We tested hundreds of formulas; we even tried existing perfumes and colognes to see if anything on the market inspired the feeling of a wolf. I knew the spirit I wanted, but when it came to the actual scent—first it was too sweet, too musky, too much like a wet dog. Not enough of this, too much of that. Everyone had a different idea of what it should be.

Then the pheromones—not that they were secondary, as I worked on both simultaneously. When one became too frustrating, I’d switch to the other. At least I had a clearer idea of where I was going with the pheromones. However, getting it just right and consistently achieving the results I wanted was taxing, partly because people will only pay so much. So, when is it good enough, especially when you’re trying to create something extraordinary?

You see, we didn’t aim for just the lone wolf vibe. We set out to create more of a leader-type aura. I wanted something that made people not only like and trust you but also look at you with admiration and respect. Our goal was to craft a pheromone blend that would position the wearer as a leader, inspiring trust, desire, and a willingness to follow, while keeping the wearer elevated and distinct from others. We hoped to create a feeling in people that they were privileged if the WOLF wearer chose to speak with them or give them attention. WOLF users should be perceived as elite—I think that’s a great word for it. As I said, we weren’t going for the lone wolf here. We aimed for the strong, wise leader that everyone wants to be or be with.
